CDC announced that people could ditch their masks if fully vaccinated.
A pre-pandemic world and the old normalcy may be a far-fetched dream right now, but the global small steps every day towards attaining it is undeniable nonetheless. In major progress, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Thursday, eased the mask-wearing protocol for people who are fully vaccinated.
CDC's director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, during a media briefing, said, "We have all longed for this moment when we can get back to some sense of normalcy." Dr. Walensky further added, "that moment has come for those who are fully vaccinated."

According to CDC, more than 35% of Americans are fully vaccinated. President Joe Biden and his staff ditched masks during the Thursday briefing at the White House.
Celebrating the great milestone, President Biden said, “Today is a great day for America. If you are fully vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask." Summarizing the new guidelines, Biden added "We’ve gotten this far, please protect yourself until you get to the finish line, get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do."

CDC had informed last year that a person is considered fully vaccinated only after two weeks of his final dose, which gives the immune system sufficient time to build antibodies against the virus. Hailing this great move, former director of CDC, Dr. Richard Besser, commented, "Today marks a true turning point in the pandemic, If you're fully vaccinated, you are good to go. That's huge."
