Chelsea Beat Real Madrid To Reach Champions League Final

The English club has reached the UEFA Champions League final after defeating the Spanish Champion in the second league.

Chelsea put on an impressive performance as they won a convincing 2-0 in the semifinal second leg at Stamford Bridge to reach the finals of Europe's prestigious competition.

The blues won a comfortable 2-0 win in the second leg of the champions league semifinal. Over the two legs, the Premier League side won 3-1 on aggregate.

N'Golo Kante and Kai Havertz were the two best players for Chelsea.

Chelsea's win means that it will be an all-English Champions League final with Manchester City, who won 4-1 on aggregate against PSG.

The home side put pressure early on in the game as forwards Timo Werner and Kai Havertz teamed up to tease Real Madrid's defense. It only took half an hour for the London club to open the scoring. N'Golo Kante led the counter-attack for Chelsea inside the Spanish giant's defense. He then passed the ball to Kia, who chipped the ball over Thibaut Courtois as it hit the crossbar, but Werner was there to head the ball inside the empty net.

Karim Benzema forced Chelsea's goalkeeper Mendy to make a few good saves in the match, but other than that, Real could not threaten much in the game. The 13-times Champions League winner kept the majority of ball possession but remained lackluster throughout the game. Eden Hazard returned for the first time in Stamford Bridge since his €100 million move to Madrid, but he could not inspire his side for a win.

Havertz and Werner terrorized the Madrid defense with their pace in the entirety of the match. Chelsea had many good opportunities to score, but finally, in the 85th minute, Mason Mount tucked in the ball from the substitute Christian Pulisic pass.

Chelsea's coach Thomas Tuchel has become the first manager to reach back-to-back Champions League finals with different clubs. The six-time EPL champion has won the coveted cup only once in 2012.
