Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Late Brace To Keep Champions League Hope Alive
Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo late in the game help Juventus make a comeback against Udinese in Serie A on Sunday.
The Portuguese talisman was anonymous throughout the game, but he proved yet again that he is still the main man of his team after scoring two very late goals. Juve was trailing by a goal when they conceded just 10 minutes into the game.
Udinese's Nahuel Molina opened the scoring for the home side when he hit a powerful shot from a quickly taken freekick. For most of the match, Le Zebrette did a good job defensively by not letting Juve's forwards a chance on the goal.
However, they failed to keep that in the final 10 minutes as the mercurial forward came to the rescue. Juventus were awarded a freekick in the 82nd minute, which the 36-year-old took. But Udinese Argentinean midfielder Rodrigo De Paul extended his arm to block the shot, resulting in the referee awarding with a penalty.

Of course, it was Cristiano who stepped up to take from the 12 yards out, which he latched in the bottom left corner to equalize his side. With only seven minutes remaining, Juve was desperate to score one more to win the game and move in the champions league position.
Then in the 89th-minute, Adrien Rabiot crossed the ball to Ronaldo, who headed it from close range, which went through the keeper's legs as he scored the winner. The goal was the Portugal captain's 27th league goals of the season and keeping him in a firm position for the race to win the Capocannoniere.
The win was vital for the Bianconeri as they climbed to third place with 69 points, level in points with Atlanta and AC Milan, in second and fourth place respectively. Napoli is in fifth with just two points behind the three teams.
