Ellie Goulding doesn't believe it's her time to headline Glastonbury in 2021 but still believes she's got a long way for the right time to assuredly come.

There has been a widespread criticism for the festival lineups not having female artists in prominent positions, and it seemed, for a while, British singer Ellie Goulding was a response to that criticism. But she's ruled out her chance to headline it at Worthy Farm, saying it's not her time yet.

"I've headlined at so many festivals, but I think at some point it's your time, and I just don't think it's my time," she recently told The Sun's Bizarre column.

She remains hopeful of headlining Glastonbury as well, however, and confident that she still has a long way to go before permanently storing her mic. Plus, she is assured of herself about keeping her spectators afoot at any concert for as long as she is active.

She's not walking out of the chance to do it either.

"But I think it will be in the future. I'm convinced I've got a lot more in me to go, so maybe in another ten years," she continued. "I would always put on a good show. I always do my very best and my performances are renowned for being pretty energetic. I think I could hold the crowd."

She's made her mark when it comes to headlining, performing at the main Pyramid Stage in 2016 hours before Coldplay. "I've worked my way up at Glastonbury, from the John Peel Stage to the Other Stage to the Pyramid Stage," she says.

The removal of the hope of her being among the headliners in 2021 comes after the festival announced the lineup for six headliners next August, all the while the criticism of Reading and Leeds Festivals being alive.

Of course, it was all men, but they did try to make some progress, with Taylor Swift should've been one of the headliners this June. And the hope still is that she'll return next June too. Don't worry, Goulding will be performing too many times after it starts in April.

For now, the headliners announced are 'Queens of the Stone Age', Liam Gallagher, Post Malone, Stormzy, 'Catfish' and 'The Bottlemen and Disclosure'.
