After he filed for divorce in 2017 he started his relationship with Mary Elizabeth Winstead. He met her on a set of Fargo. Mary herself is an American actress and a singer. She is a specialist in horror movies. She is often termed a scream queen. After her split with an American filmmaker, Riley Stearns she hooked up with McGregor in 2017. and now the couple has a son together. she gave birth to her son in 2021.

Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead have a son together and they live together. In June 2021 McGregor and Mary welcomed a new family member of theirs. McGregor's daughter has celebrated welcoming her newly born brother via her Instagram captioning her pic, "Welcome to the world little brother congratulations to my Dad & Mary - this is the greatest gift".

After the healthy birth of Ewan and Mary, Ewan's daughter held him and went emotional. she celebrated his birth and welcomed him to the family. She posted a picture of hers holding Ewan's son, her younger brother on her official Instagram account.

 Ewan's other daughter Esther ended up revealing the name of her brother, Ewan's son on her Instagram account when welcoming him to the family. Although he is from a different mother, they loved him from the bottom of their heart which itself is worthy enough for everyone's praise.
