Barrett was only 18th when she starred in the ABC singing show, but Gabby had ventured into her musical career even younger-much younger. Barrett was nine when she started performing for the live audience.
Born on March 5, 2000, in Munhall, Pennsylvania, Barrett is the youngest of eight offspring her parents, Blaise and Pam Barrett, have. Although she initially started with a keen interest in R&B and even became a local celebrity at a tender age, Barrett's hidden penchant for country music started unfolding as she grew up. Barrett made quite the headlines when she married fellow American Idol contestant Cade Foehner at 19.

When asked why she decided to get married at such young age, Gabby says it's something she just followed into as everyone in her family walked the aisle at an early age. The country singer reveals she has family members who married at 13 and 14. For the young singer, American Idol's platform was where she found love and fame.

Barrett and Foehner met in the competition as fellow contestants but fell in love on the journey. Gabby reveals she was the one who initiated their relationship. "I didn't think he liked me at first," Gabby said in an interview. For the then-19 years Barrett, Foehner's cool-rocker appearance was enchanting enough. She shares Foehner started showing interest in her after reaching out to him first.

Foehner, 25, is a native of Shelbyville, Texas. He was eliminated during the top five on the ABC show. Cade did a brief stint at a band called Johnson's Lost Crowe and is now pursuing a solo career. We know what you think that it's not common, for two young people, especially of this generation, to get hitched. But the logic ceases when the parties involved come from a traditional and conservative family.

Both Gabby and Cade come from a similar background, which the Pennsylvania native says is the foundation of their relationship. We're both excited to make such a serious and holy commitment before the Lord, with our family and friends there to help us celebrate," Barret told People shortly after their wedding, which took place on October 5, 2019. The couple shares a one-year-old daughter.

On January 18, Barrett and Cade's daughter, Baylah May, turned one. The I Hope hitmaker and her husband commemorated their daughter's special day at Disney Land. Barrett took to her Instagram and shared a snap of the family at the magical land. "Happy 1st birthday to my heart. My precious little girl. My daughter," the singer wrote in the caption.
Barrett says she is blocking her daughter's face on pictures to protect her.

The American Idol alum further puts her maternal feelings in words. Gabby says being a mother has made her appreciate her parents. "I will defend and protect you always. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Mama & Dada love you," Barrett adds. But for Barrett's 805k followers, the post wasn't as sweet as it was irking. Barrett's followers have a problem with the duo always blocking their daughter's face.

After incessant trolling and complaints from her fans, Barrett has finally responded to the matter. The Good Once singer defends her decision to hide her daughter's face in her latest statement. "For the people constantly commenting on Baylah's face being blocked out of pictures, she is our daughter," Barrett wrote. She adds, "Please respect how we've decided to protect our child."
