Game of Thrones Star Indira Varma Tests Positive for COVID-19
Indira Varma tests positive for coronavirus.
The celebrity list contracting COVID-19 seems to be growing every day. The Forrest Gump star Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, followed by the likes of Idris Elba, Olga Kurylenko, and Kristofer Hivju, sadly, the new name added to the list is the 'Game of Thrones' alum Indira Varma.
The actress, who played the role of 'Ellaria Sand' on the hit HBO drama' Game of Thrones, took to Instagram to break the unfortunate news to her fans. Varma revealed she is confined to her bed and asked her followers to follow the health protocols and stay safe.
Indira wrote,
So sad our and so many other shows around the world have gone dark affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to be back soon and urge you all (and the govt) to support us when we do.
The 46-year-old added, “Phoenix/ Seagull rising from the ashes. I’m in bed with it and it’s not nice. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your fellow people.”

Varma was currently involved in the comedy play 'The Seagull' by Russian dramatist Anton Chekhov at London’s West End. GOT co-star Emilia Clarke was also involved in the play.
The British actress, born to an Indian father and a swiss mother, is well renowned for several credits besides Game of Thrones. These include 'Kama Sutra : A Tale of Love' (1996), 'The Canterbury Tales' (2003), 'Rome' (2005-07), 'Luther' (2010), 'Human Target' (2010-11), 'Paranoid' (2016), and 'Carnival Row' (2019).

There are no news yet on the health condition of Emilia Clarke and several others involved in the play. But given the way the infection is spreading, it’s for the best to get everybody checked who were in close contact with her. Meanwhile, the play remains on indefinite hold with no future dates.
