Jack White Marries Olivia Jean During Detroit Concert

Jack White pulled a romantic stunt during his concert at the Masonic Temple in his hometown Detroit on Friday night when he called his girlfriend, singer Olivia Jean, 36, for a duet on White Stripes's Hotel Yorba. He then proposed to her and hitched in the next few minutes. The 12-Grammy winner began by introducing Olivia to his sold-out crowd as his girlfriend and then turned to Jean for a question.  

"Will you marry me?" the 46 years old singer asked his girlfriend while presenting her with a ring. "Yes," replied Olivia, and the song perfectly rolled into the following line of the song, "let's get married." White scooped his fiance in his arms, carried her offstage, and returned quickly to announce, "It's been such a great day; mind if we get married right now?" Jean is a member of the rock band Black Belles, which is currently on hiatus and performs as a solo artist.

Fans were left in awe and slight bewilderment to witness the pair's quick nuptials. White's close people, including his bandmates, mother Teresa Gillis, friend Ben Flack, and Olivia's father, Brent Markel, gathered on stage to make it official. The couple kissed and wrapped their quick nuptial, after which the Detroit-born singer got back to continue the concert. White resumed the show with the rendition of Raconteurs' Steady, As She Goes, and Seven Nation Army.

"What a Day," said the frontman of White Stripes, whose day was indeed preceded by some eventful feats. Before his impromptu wedding with Jean, White had released his fourth solo studio album, Fear of the Dawn and performed the National Anthem at the Detroit Tigers' opening day game. "God bless you, Detroit," said the singer at the show's end.

The Another Way to Die hitmaker was previously married to English model and singer Karen Elson from 2005 to 2013. The former couple share a daughter, Scarlett Teresa, and a son, Henry Lee. White also brelfy dated actress Renée Zellweger in 2003.
