'Friends' star James Michael Tyler, known as Gunther, revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

James Michael Tyler, who is best known for his role of Gunther from the famous sitcom 'Friends,' recently disclosed that he'd been diagnosed with cancer. In an interview with NBC's Today show, the 59-year-old star said that he'd been diagnosed with prostate cancer in September 2018.

He revealed that his cancer was in stage 4 and has spread to his bones. Hence the actor can no longer walk. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

'I was 56 years old at the time, and they screen for PSA, which is a prostate-specific antigen,' Tyler elaborated on his diagnosis. 'That came back at an extraordinarily high number... so I knew immediately when I went online and I saw the results of my blood test and blood work that there was obviously something quite wrong there.'

'Nearly immediately, my doctor called me and said, 'Hey, I need you to come in tomorrow because I suspect that you may have quite a serious problem with your prostate,' he added. And it turned out to be cancer.

'Late stage cancer,' he told host Craig Melvin. 'Eventually, you know, it's gonna probably get me.'
