Laura Hamilton Announces her Separation from Husband Alex Goward After 13 Years of Marriage

Three years of relationship and over ten years of marriage later, Laura Hamilton surprisingly announced her shocking split from Alex Goward. "This isn't something I ever thought I'd be saying but, after 13 years of being together, Alex and I have separated," A Place in the Sun presenter said. Alongside the announcement, Hamilton shared an image that read, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."  

The television presenter, 39, married Alex, insurance broker, in 2012, three years after the pair had started dating. They share two children, Rocco, 8, and Tahlia, 6. "Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time," Hamilton wrote. Laura has since turned off the comments on her posts.

It is being reported that the 39 years old blonde did all in her might to save the marriage, but the pair reached their limits during the lockdown. "She wanted to make the marriage work for the sake of the family. She threw her all into saving the relationship, but in lockdown, they reached crisis point," a friend of the presenter told Daily Mail.

The insider further revealed, "Laura is often away abroad traveling with her work on A Place In The Sun, so the couple wasn't used to spending so much time together under one roof." It appears the couple separated a while ago, and the news was brought late to the world. The two are reportedly moving on with their lives, and sources say Laura has been burrowing herself in work.

The couple's separation news comes a day later; Laura revealed she was leaving the family home they shared for almost a decade. "I wish I could say I look like this photo right now but I don't because, since the start of the new year we have been packing up our home ready to move," Hamilton said. The presenter recalls having shared some of the best memories in the family home, but she explains the move as a necessary step in progress and continuing.  

Hamilton and Goward are also business partners; they run a café called Lord Roberts on The Green together. Hamilton has taken some time off since making the shocking announcement. The mother of two jetted off to Spain and shared a snap of her trip. Posting a clip showcasing palm trees and the Ocean, Laura writes, "Hello sunshine."
