The former Chelsea boss had been sacked by Juventus in August 2020 and had not gone on to management since. This return will surely be one of an exciting prospect for the Serie A team, having been able to attract such a reputed manager. He will be accompanied by his assistant Giovanni Martusciello along with Marco Ianni, Andrea Pertugio and Massimo Nenci.
As per the two-year contract, Sarri will be paid £2.6 million (approximately $3.67 million) on a seasonal basis. His contract will last till June 2023, as per a tweet by Fabrizio Romano.
Sarri is already working in his new job, as he has asked Lazio to bring Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan, as per Sky Sports. Loftus-Cheek had an impressive season under Sarri during his spell as coach of Chelsea in the 2018/19 season.
Lazio finished sixth in Serie A last season and are qualifying for next season's Europa League group stage. As Sarri won the competition with Chelsea in 2019, they are looking forward to winning the next year's Europa League.
