Liverpool had zero shot on target, which might have led to a harsh pep-talk from Jurgen Klopp in the dressing room. The Kops made the first-half change with Thiago coming for Keita. They did show some intent in the second half creating several chances, out of which Mohamed Salah scored in the 51st minute.
Just when Liverpool started to gain some momentum with a much-needed away goal, Real Madrid caught them loose at the back again as Vinicius Jr scored his second goal of the night from an assist from Modric.
