Real Madrid salvaged a point as they score late in the Madrid Derby.
It came late, but Real Madrid has kept their hope of lifting Laliga for the second year in a row alive. Zinedine Zidane put out a 4-3-3 line-up while Diego Simeone placed 4-1-4-1 formation for his side.
Luis Suarez opened the score in the 15th minute of the anticipated derby played at Atletico's home ground, Wanda Metropolitano. Despite conceding early, Real tried their best to break through the Colchoneros but could not put the ball at the back of the net.

Thibaut Courtois kept Marid alive in the match as he saved a couple of good saves. After missing two good chances earlier, which could have cost Real the game, French striker Karim Benzema finally scored for visitors in the 88th minute as he slotted the ball into the net, playing a one-two with Casemiro.
Atletico will be kicking themselves for letting Real take two points from them so late in the match. The result has put a big dent in their hopes of lifting the coveted league cup in seven years. The last time they won the Spanish league cup was in 2014.

Real undoubtedly will be the happier team between the two Madrid clubs, though Barcelona is the real winner as they close the gap with Atletico, who the current league leader.
After twenty-six games played in Laliga, Real are third with 54 points. Barca, who have two points more, are in second while Atletico Madrid are in first with 59 points and a game in hand.
