Target and other retail stores announced they will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Target recently announced that it will close on Thanksgiving Day due to coronavirus pandemic. The retail store said it's an attempt to prevent the crowds.
However, the retail store said it will expand its same day pickup and delivery service, making products available for drive up, pickup, and delivery to make holiday shopping available and safer.
Following the news, the CEO of Target, Brian Cornell, released a statement to address the situation. On his statement, Brian said, "The investments we’ve made in our business and our incredible team have enabled us to move with flexibility and speed to meet guests’ changing needs during this global pandemic."

Walmart said it will remain closed on Thanksgiving day to avoid crowds and give its employees time to spend with their families. The retail store announced another round of bonuses for the workers on the front line during the pandemic.
