Carl Weathers explains how his character's backstory will be featured in the second season of The Mandalorian.

From where the expectations were for the first-ever live-action 'Star Wars' show, it is safe to say the series itself not only surpassed the expectations; it became one of the beloved latest addition to the 'Star Wars' universe in a time where people were feeling the fatigue of more 'Star Wars' then they could handle.

'The Mandalorian' was not only a welcome addition to the beloved series, but it also allowed the people to see the galaxy in a new way. The contained story, with characters doing their best to survive and not involved in any destiny fulfillment with a small dab of galactic magic to boot. The audiences were quick to embrace the show, and now it seems they’ve all got a new show to look forward to every Friday.

Carl Weathers played one of the characters who was both a friend and an enemy in the first three episodes of the show called 'Greef Carga.' He is the leader of the bounty hunter’s Guild, and there was some back story behind to the character which we were not made privy to in the first few episodes of the show.

Considering what transpired between 'Mando' and the Guild in the closing of the third episode we are not expecting to see Greef in the series any time soon but the actor Carl Weathers was on hand to explain what happened to the character in the show and what can we expect from the series moving forward when it comes to Greef.

“I think [Greef’s backstory] is more saved for season two,” the actor said in a talk with SFX. “But you get some glimpses at Greef and who he is through the stories in the first season. There are some really strong indications that give you some idea of who he is. But we never let on completely.”

The actor also explained why he loved playing the character, saying the double-sided nature of Greef was what attracted him the most. “It’s much more interesting to play someone who is not all of one thing – not one-dimensional,” Carl Weathers explained. “Also, it opens it up to stories later on that can reveal much more about this character. Certainly, with Greef, you have to really keep your eye on him.”
