Dango Nguyen, one of the cast member of The Walking Dead season 3 has tragically passed away at the age of 48. His cause of death was announced as cancer.
Dango was a firefighter for 20-years before he entered the entertainment world. The Athens-Clarke County, where he worked as the firefighter, announced the sad news via their Facebook account.
The statement read,
"It is with tremendous sadness that we mourn the loss of one of our former firefighters. Dango Nguyen passed away early this morning after a hard-fought battle with cancer."
While paying tribute to Dango, the Firefighting Department said,
"He will always be remembered for his physical and mental strength. He was an aggressive and tenacious firefighter and first responder. He carried out his service to our community with a high level of pride in his craft, as well as a competitive spirit that made everyone else that he worked with better too."
In the Emmy-winning series, Dango played the bodyguard of the Governor, who was the main villian of season 3. The governor fought with the lead actor Rick Grimes.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, he also tried his hands in professional wrestling. Interestingly, he was the childhood friend of the veteran wrestler, Rob Van Dam.
The Hall of Famer also paid tribute to his friend and talked about Dango's positive nature.
The world lost a great soul today, and in this dire time, we offer nothing but our deepest condolences to his family.
