Trevor Noah Sues Hospital Alleging Botched Surgery Which Left Him Permanent and Grievous Injuries

Comedian Trevor Noah has sued a New York City hospital and Dr. Riley J. Williams III for being negligent during a special surgery he underwent in 2020. Noah was a patient at the hospital between Aug. 25, 2020, and Dec. 17, 2020. Noah alleged both the hospital and doctor were careless and failed in their duty to treat him skillfully.  

As per the legal complaint filed by Trevor, the comedian claims, "careless in failing to treat and care for [him] in a careful and skillful manner," the complaint further alleges, "(the defendants) failed to prescribe proper medications, failed to discontinue certain prescription medications and failed to use proper tests and examinations in order to diagnose the conditions that he "was suffering from."

The Daily Show host claims he is left permanently disfigured and suffered great emotional and physical distress due to that. The court documents go on to make serious claims as to how Trevor has "suffered a loss of enjoyment of life." The comedian doesn't mention what special surgery he underwent, but the hospital profile cites Dr.Riley as an Orthopedic surgeon specializing in knee, shoulder and elbow surgery.

 A special source cites the comedian was confined to his best for a long time after the alleged botched surgery. The insider claims some of Noah's injuries are permanent and that he will suffer a great deal in the future as well. The Hospital for Special Surgery has denied the allegations, and a representative for the hospital has called the complaint "meritless.

"HSS received a complaint filed on behalf of Mr. Trevor Noah. We have shared with Mr. Noah's attorney a detailed rebuttal to the claims, which are meritless," the hospital said. Their statement further read, "committed to excellence in the care we provide to each of the more than 150,000 patients we treat each year. (hospital) consistently ranked #1 in orthopedics globally and nationally."
