Ant-Man is coming back for a third movie and Peyton Reed is back directing.
'MCU' is filled with rich characters now, which was not the case when Marvel was scrapping the bottom of the barrel with the release of 'Thor' and 'Guardians of Galaxy.' Now, those same characters are household names because of great movies over the last 11 years. 'Ant-Man,'' on the other hand, was a movie, which acted as a pallet cleanser after the heavy 'Avengers' movies, a way for people to recharge.
This was the reason why even with limited interest in the series, the movie was a critical and commercial success, not by Marvel’s lofty standards, but considering the characters involved in the series, it was a massive coupe. So it is understandable, after getting back 'X-Men' and 'Fantastic Four' in the MCU, the people involved behind the scene put 'Ant-Man' on the back burners.
But the thing is, 'Ant-Man' was the reason 'Endgame' was made possible, and even though the characters' movies are inconsequential in the long run, there is still a lot of love for the characters of the film. Marvel knew how much people love 'Scott Lang' and 'Luiz,' so they are bringing back the gang and giving Ant-Man a full set of movies.
Yes, 'Ant-Man' is coming back for a third outing, and all of the cast is confirmed to be coming back now the news coming from Marvel is the director, Peyton Reed, agreed terms to come back and direct the third installment of everyone’s beloved not-so-good-white-collar-criminal-turned-superhero.

After the rehiring of Peyton Reed for the third 'Ant-Man' movie, this became the first time in the MCU’s history where the same director was taking the reins of a complete trilogy for the same character. James Gunn is also another director who will finish out a trilogy, but it won’t be before Peyton Reed starts filming 'Ant-Man 3.'
Marvel is known for switching things up with different directors helming different projects, but after what Anthony and Joe Russo along with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely showed the advantage of running it all back with the same team, the studio seems to be coming round to the idea of going with what works best. Also, Ryan Coogler is making 'Black Panther 2,' and if all goes well, he will most probably be involved in the making of the third movie.
