Bill And Melinda Gates Ending Their Relationship After 34 Years Together

Multi-Billionaire Bill Gates and his wife Melinda Gates of many years are getting a divorce.

Indeed you read the title correctly. The news about the philanthropic power couple separating has shocked the entire world. After living as a husband and wife for over twenty-seven years, Bill and Melinda Gates are calling quits to their marriage.

The business tycoon tweeted a post on his Twitter which read:

"After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage. Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives. We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives. We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life."

Reportedly, Melinda filed a petition for divorce in King County, Washington, on Monday. So far, no financial settlement in the divorce has been revealed.

The Microsoft co-founder first met his other half at Microsoft in the late 1980s. At that time, Bill was CEO and she was just starting to work as a product manager.

After getting to know one another at a business dinner in New York, they began dating and subsequently walked down the aisle in 1994. The couple shares two daughters, Phoebe Adele Gates, Jennifer Katherine Gates, and a son Rory John Gates.
