Bodyguard Season 2 "Absolutely Happening" According to Nicholas Gleaves
Bodyguard season 2 will be be here soon, well, maybe, it will be here soon!
'Bodyguard' series from BBC was a revelation when it was released for the British audience on BBC, but then the show got a new lease of life after Netflix picked up the show, and a whole new fan base and viewing audience was opened up to the show. The acting, the story, and the environment created by the show were visceral and uneasy to look at.
There were calls of Islamophobia in the series, which were somewhat true, but the series was still something unique for the way the characters were portrayed. But no matter what type of show they made, no was expecting the level of success they are enjoying right now, neither the creator of the show nor the leading actor.

It was definitely a Netflix thing because their platform allowed the show to reach every corner of the world. But the six-part series was still seen as a limited series run, which is why it is now amazing to hear there are some developments for the second season of 'Bodyguard.'
Richard Madden, the 'Game of Thrones' alum, was brilliant as the leading character of the show and though the show ventured a little into the weird by the final episode, it was still a magnificent execution of series and the actor said he was interested in coming back for a second season if it ever comes to fruition.

After the hype surrounding the series reached a fever pitch, the actor said he would be “very keen” to come back to the world created by Jed Mercurio, but then there was no word whatsoever the second season of Bodyguard is concerned.
But there is another actor who seems to be confident the whole team is going to run it back for a sophomore outing of Bodyguard. According to Nicholas Gleaves, who appeared in the show as 'Roger Penhaligon,' the Conservative party Chief Whip, the second season of Bodyguard is “absolutely guaranteed,” but when it comes to the timeline shooting and release of the second season, the actor is not so confident.

“I spoke to the producer a month ago, and he absolutely guaranteed that there would be a second series, and he absolutely guaranteed that he’s no idea when it’s going to be!” the actor stated. “I think that Roger can definitely make a comeback. It would all depend on what Jed Mercurio comes up with story-wise, but I loved that role,” Gleaves added about the possible return of his character.”
“I thought it was really, really brilliant, and he had a real energy whenever he came on-screen. So I’d like to get back to Roger, that’d be good!” he shared at the end. So it seems there is a high probability Bodyguard will be returning for a sophomore season and but will it be anywhere near as good as the first season?

We doubt it; it feels like the first season was like catching lightning in the bottle, and the first season already feels like a self-contained story; we don’t know what more the people behind the scene could add to the story.
