Yes, it doesn’t reveal much about the character, but the name is at least something, combined with a slight glimpse Barbara Broccoli and Rami gave on the character and ideology of the villain.
Rami Malek said the only reason the actor played the character was after the director assured him the villain is not motivated by religion. He will also not be an Arabic speaking terrorist. The Oscar-winning actor did not want to be the generic punching bag of past America and play an Arab villain or a religious zealot, as the actor described the character was right for him, and he loved the twist from the writers. Rami said, “But that was clearly not his vision. So he’s a very different kind of terrorist. It’s another extremely clever script from the people.”
Barbara Broccoli also stated how this will be the nastiest villain Bond ever faced, and she also talked about how the villain will get under the skin on Bond like no other Bond villain ever did. “We have thrown the book at him on this one. He is really the supervillain. He is the one who really gets under Bond’s skin. He’s a nasty piece of work,” according to Barbara Broccoli.
In 'No Time To Die,' the movie will show the retirement of Bond and how men like him never retire, and they always get pulled back into the mess they so desperately wanted to get away from. Bond is in Jamaica when his old CIA buddy Felix shows up talking about a new threat, and this compels the retired spy/assassin to come back into the fray before something bad happens.
The movie will also deal with the introduction of a new 007, played by Lashana Lynch, who will take up the moniker after James Bond retires. Together, they will face off against Rami’s 'Safin' and whatever he is planning to unleash into the world.
