'Bringing Up Bates' Baby Update: Carlin Stewart and Husband Evan Stewart Welcome Their First Baby Girl Together

One more addition to the Bates family!

The famous Bates family from the UpTV's 'Bringing Up Bates' series recently added one more member to their household. Carlin Stewart (née Bates), the ninth daughter of Gil and Kelly Bates, announced her pregnancy back in September of 2019. The news of a bun in her oven came mere four months after the couple's matrimony union.

But it seems that the couple received their good news a bit earlier than it should've been. On Friday, January 31, Carlin Bates and her husband, Evan Stewart welcomed their first child together, a beautiful daughter, Layla Rae Stewart. The child was born at 3:56 p.m., weighing 5 lbs. 13 oz., and measuring in at 18 in.

The couple said in a statement with US Weekly on Saturday, February 1,

How do you describe an experience so emotionally intense and so magically wonderful as welcoming a brand new baby into the world? We feel like our lives just became incredibly busy, but unimaginably blessed with little Layla Rae’s arrival! She has already consumed our thoughts and intentions for these past pregnancy months and now, no day will ever be the same without her!

The pair couldn't keep down their joy ever since they found out about the pregnancy. Even at the early stages, Carlin looked up to her mother and wondered how her mother, Kelly Bates, went through with everything 19 times. And yet even then the young soon to be mother always wanted to share the exact sentiment that Kelly felt; treat pregnancy as a gift and a privilege.

The 21-year-old young mother was initially expected to go into labor on mid-February, but her blood clotting disorder caused the baby to be born ahead of time. Nevertheless, the birth went smoothly without any complications and both Layla and her mother are healthy.

Evan's wife's labor had to be induced early, the result of the same blood-clotting disorder as her older sister, Erin Paine. Carlin revealed that she was getting shots for the condition to keep Layla and herself safe during the process.

Married, pregnant and motherhood at just the age of 21, things seem to be moving quite fast for Carlin. However, this doesn't seem to affect her health, growth or relationship. In fact the couple were as ready as they could ever be to become new parents.
