Chelsea Go Past Sheffield United 2-0 To Reach FA Cup Semi-Finals
Thomas Tuchel's rejuvenated Chelsea side beat Sheffield United 2-0 in an evenly matched contest to go through to the last four of the FA Cup 2021.
Chelsea and Sheffield United faced each other in a tight contest at Stamford Bridge, where Thomas Tuchel's men just get enough to get past the next round. They beat the relegation-threatened side from Sheffield 2-0, courtesy of an own goal from Oliver Norwood in the 24th minute and Hakim Ziyech in the 92nd minute.
It was a normal shot from Chelsea's left wingback Ben Chilwell that got an influential deflection from Norwood to give the Blues a much-needed lead. Despite an early lead, the London club looked nowhere near their best, maybe due to the fatigue factor as they went on an intense battle against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
Hakim Ziyech scored in the 92nd minute to double Chelsea's lead against Sheffield United.

In the second-half, 20th placed Sheffield United were all over the park trying desperately to get back in the game with an equalizer. They might have played well, but a goal was the missing jigsaw in the puzzle. Striker McGoldbrick missed a huge free header just in front of the goal, which might have been a hint that it wasn't gonna be their day.

Chelsea was the second-best for most of the second half until manager Thomas Tuchel made vital substitutions by bringing the club's two big summer signings Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech. The Blues started commanding the possession pretty well after that and got an incredible counter-attacking opportunity in the stoppage time to seal the win.

It was a second-goal for Ziyech this week, which would be vital for him to get enough confidence heading into the crunch part of the season. With the quarter-final win, Chelsea has now reached the semi-finals for the fourth time in five seasons, definitely making them a strong favorite to be the champion.
Chelsea will join Southampton and Manchester City in the last four, who already got a win in their respective fixtures last night. The final spot is set to be contested in a competitive match between Leicester City and Manchester United later this evening.
