Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy Announced Breakup

Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy have broken up after almost a year of dating: Complete story here!  

Comedian Chelsea Handler and her boyfriend of almost one year, comedian Jo Koy, are no longer together. The 47-year-old Chelsea Lately host took to her Instagram to reveal their breakup. Handler's breakup announcement comes after her long absence from Koy's Instagram feed. Handler posted a video that the two had saved to commemorate their 1st anniversary.  

In her emotional caption, the After Lately host wrote, "It is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now." Handler adds, "I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us."

Handler and Koy, formerly a recurring panelist on Handler's Chelsea Lately, started dating in September 2021, although the duo had known each other for over 20 years. "Just sitting here in Mallorca thinking about how grateful I am to have so many people that I love in my life," Handler wrote in a cryptic post while subtly hinting at her rumored romance with Koy. She added, "And that I'm finally in love, with the best kind of guy there is. There is hope for everyone! That kind of stuff."

Even though the adorable pair's romance has ended after nearly a year, Chelsea assures her fans that their breakup is as amicable as possible. "To be loved and adored by @jokoy has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. He renewed my faith in men, in love, in being 100% who I am, and I've never been more optimistic for the future," Handler wrote in the caption.

The reason behind the twosome's split is not known yet, but sources tell that their close friends hope it is a temporary situation. "Their friends are hoping they can still work it out. But if anything, it's clear their relationship has changed them both for the better," shared a source. The twosome's healthy breakup announcement is being reciprocated with positive comments and much love.
