Chinese show forced to apologize after altering the image of singer Selena Gomez and actress Francia Raisa.
A Chinese TV show has apologized for its disrespectful image of Selena Gomez's kidney transplant image.
The incident occurred in the recent episode of Who's Murderer?, in which it altered the picture of Francia Raisa and Selena Gomez when the former donated her kidney to her best friend in 2017. In the altered photo, the American celebrities were replaced with two Chinese men.

After the episode aired, it caused an uproar on the internet, and many users on China's Weibo social media labeled the photo as disrespectful to Gomez as she has lupus disease.
Needless to say, the incident received national and international attention. After receiving wide and backlash criticism from within their own viewers and fellow citizen, the show apologized on Thursday, February 25. The show released a statement which read it held the "deepest regret" for its "negligence."
Who's the Murderer? is one of China's most popular entertainment shows on which celebrities play various characters as they solve murder mysteries. It is adapted from the South Korean show Crime Scene and airs on China's Mango TV.
