Chris Burrous was Married to Mai Do Burrous - How was His Relationship with His Wife?

The KLTA family was rocked on 27 December 2018 when the anchor, Chris Burrous, for the channel for over seven years, was found dead in a motel room in Glendale. He was a renowned man in the Los Angeles area as the anchor was the primary source of information for most citizens.

Chris Burrows was born on 11 January 1975 to a father who was a farmer and mother who worked as a NASA engineer for a long time. People who knew Chris from a young age said he was destined to be a news anchor from a young age, and from his formative years to his adult life, Chris continued on his singular pursuit of being an anchor.

After working and appearing in front of a camera for multiple different local news outlets, Chris found his home in KLTA. But while working in a different place, he got on with KGET, where he found the love of his life and got married soon after.

In his bouncing around from place to place and working in various news outlets, Chris arrived in KGET, wherein 1999 he met Mai Do-Burrows for the first time. She was also a journalist and working for the channel when the two met. It wasn't exactly love at first sight, but there were sparks between the two, and it was only in the two people’s best interest to pursue the feeling and see where it led.

In 1999 the two started to date, and love followed soon; the big day followed about four years later when Chris popped the question, and Mai said yes. The couple got married on 19 October 2003 in the presence of their friends and family. Mai gradually stopped working, and soon, the married couple welcomed their first and only child, daughter Isabella in 2009.

The marriage appeared to be good as we saw the husband and wife frequently on his Facebook feed, cooking, and laughing together. But Chris Burrous was hiding a big secret from his family, and he was reportedly engaged in an extramarital affair, which eventually resulted in his death on 27 December 2018.

On 27 December 2018, Chris Burrous left early from his work, saying he was feeling unwell, and instead of going home, he went to a Glendale motel in Los Angeles. At the motel, he was waiting for a man he met on Grindr (a dating app primarily for men looking for men). The two met in the motel, and this was not the first time they were sneaking off for a sexual escapade.

Chris and the man he was with met twice before, and when he arrived at the motel, Chris greeted him at the door, fully naked, and the room was decorated with lights and sex toys. There were also drugs in the room, and the couple engaged in some sexual activity when Chris allegedly inserted a rock of meth up his butt, and after a while, he did it again.

But soon after, he started to feel discomfort, and when the mask he was wearing was removed, there was vomit in his mask, and the man he was with called 911 while starting CPR to help him breathe. When the paramedics arrived, he was pronounced dead, and the autopsy confirmed it was meth poisoning.

There was no wrongdoing in the part of the man Chris was with, and the death was ruled accidental. Chris left behind a wife of over 15 years and a nine-year-old daughter. She was distraught after the death of her husband and later thanked all the people who talked to her and sent her good wishes in her trying period.
