Christina Ricci has been married twice: Inside the actress's personal life.
Christina Ricci is best known for portraying the gothic Wednesday Addams in the supernatural black-comedy The Addams Family. But the actress's stellar resume also includes dozens of films and shows like Mermaids, Now and Then, Casper, The Opposite of Sex, The Ice Storm and Sleepy Hollow. As the news of Ricci joining the Addams Family reboot on Netflix hits the headlines, her life as an actress, wife, and mother is being explored again. Her career and net worth details.
Ricci was born on February 12, 1980, in Santa Monica, California. Ricci's venture into acting began with local theatres and her landing a few gigs on Saturday Night Live, eventually nabbing her award-winning debut in the 1990 film Mermaids. When not playing the unusually dark characters, Ricci is a doting mother of two, who she had from her two different marriages.
Who is Christina Ricci's husband?
The Addams Family actress is currently married to her second husband, celebrity hairstylist Mark Hampton, who she walked down the aisle with in October 2021, two months after the pair announced they were expecting a child. "Mr and Mr's," wrote Christina while sharing a sweet snap of the couple's wedding. Hampton also shared the same post with the caption, "Just married."

Unlike his multiple-awards-winning wife, who's been a staple for dark-edgy movies since 19990, Hampton's career line doesn't entail any onscreen appearances. Hampton is a London-based celebrity hairstylist and make-up artist with experience working with high-end brands like Hugo Boss, Jil Sander, and the Banana Republic.
Although much of Christina and Hampton's love story remains a mystery, it is likely that Hampton connected with Ricci via work, considering that he has beautified a slew of A-listers, including singer Grimes, Carey Mulligan, and more. Ricci and Hampton welcomed their firstborn, a daughter, Cleopatra Ricci Hampton, in December 2021; the married pair had announced their pregnancy in August, with Ricci sharing a snap of her ultrasound with the caption, "Life just keeps getting better."

After delivering her daughter via C-section, Ricci appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she shared a funny anecdote on how her baby's name came about. The actress tells her and Hampton were loosely considering the name Cleo, which they discussed would be a nickname for Cleopatra. Ricci was of the thought that other prospective names were on the table when Hampton excitedly revealed the name Cleopatra on social media. "And so I was like, I guess we named her Cleopatra," Ricci said. Hampton is also a bonus father to Ricci's son from her first marriage with James Heerdegen.
Who is Christina Ricci's first husband?
Before finding a soulmate in Hampton, Christina was married to the dolly grip operator James Heerdegen, who she met on the sets of ABC's short-lived series Pan Am in 2011. The spark was perhaps immediate as the news of their budding romance surfaced soon. The pair announced their engagement in February 2013 and tied the knots in October 2013. The former couple welcomed their firstborn Freddie Heerdegen in August 2014.

But after over seven years of seemingly smooth marriage, Ricci filed for divorce from James in July 2020, citing physical, emotional abuse at the hands of her son's father. The actress's complaint against her husband even included abuse in front of their toddler. Christina later obtained a domestic violence restraining order against Heerdegen and even got custody of their son.

But despite Christina's every attempt to cut things off with her ex-husband, her contentious relationship with Heerdegen has knocked on her door. James filed for spousal and child support from Ricci earlier this year. He also demanded that his attorney fees, totaling $50,000, be paid by Ricci. Although there are still no updates on the proceedings, the Yellowjackets actress may have to shell out the requested amount or meet her abusive ex in the middle.
