Colt Brennan was known for his role as a gun-slinging quarterback with the University of Hawaii. He helped the team win the Hawaii bowl in 2006. He threw 53 touchdowns that season and led his team to the 2007 Sugar Bowl.

Additionally, Brennan was also a Heisman Award finalist. After an incredible college career with the University of Hawaii, he was selected third overall in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft, as per ESPN.

He signed a four-year contract with the Washington Football Club for $1.8 million. The deal included a signing bonus of $96,800, and he was earning an annual salary of just over $450,000.

Brennan's career in the NFL was marked by injuries, and even though he became the team's third-string quarterback, he could not last long in the league. A car accident in 2010 ended his journey in the NFL, which left the player badly injured. 

'I badly broke my collarbone, and on the X-rays it was just like [cracking sound] all the way down my left side,' he said about his accident in a television interview.

After the horrible accident that left him injured, Colt was able to recover, and he decided to try his luck in leagues other than the NFL. He signed a contract to play in the United Football League, but the team folded before he could play.

'I tried to play in the UFL, back in America, and it just didn't work out,' he told the Regina Leader-Post in March 2012. 'My team went bankrupt.'

Brennan later signed a contract with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League in February 2012. At the time, he'd already realized that his days of playing in the NFL were already over. 'My window there, as of right now, kind of came and went,' he admitted at the time.
