Eamonn Holmes is one of the highly respected television presenters who’s been in the news reporting and broadcasting business for over 40 years. He started in the broadcasting business in the late 70s when he was hired by Ulster Television while he was working for a business magazine in Dublin.
The broadcaster was born on 3 December 1959 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and he received his education at Holy Family Primary School and later went to St. Malachy’s College located in Belfast. But he finished his education and gained a degree in journalism from Dublin College of Business Studies.
Eamonn worked for the ITV subsidiary starting out where he was moved to the news program after the departure of Gloria Hunniford in 1982. He also worked for BBC and then ITV main channel covering news and commenting on sports. Eamonn also started to present the show 'This Morning' every Friday and started to co-host the show with his wife, Ruth Langsford.
Who is Eamonn Holmes Wife?
While the news presenter was living and working in Dublin, he met his first wife Gabrielle Holmes, and the duo fell in love. They got married in a small ceremony in 1985, and for the first few years, they were a happy couple, battling the world together, but then small cracks started to appear in their relationship.
The reason for the cracks to widen was the death of Eamonn’s father and him throwing himself into his work. The overemphasis on his career was the primary reason for the couple separating in 1995 and started to live separately.

Eamonn and Gabrielle were married for more than ten years when they decided living separately was the best idea for the couple. Then in 1997, the ITV presenter started to date fellow television presenter Ruth Langford who was also working for a ITV subsidiary in the 90s.
The lovebirds met and fell in love but kept their relationship a secret in order to not hurt Eamonn’s first wife, Gabrielle. The couple moved in together in 2001 after Ruth became pregnant with the duo’s first child together. Eventually, Gabrielle and Eamonn divorced in 2005 when the legal documents went through, and their marriage was over.
Eamonn and Ruth lived together for a long time when, in March of 2009, the TV presenter popped the question and asked her to be his wife. The couple got married a year later in 2010, 13 years after the couple duo first started dating.
Their wedding was held in Elvetham Hall in Hampshire in the presence of a star-studded guest list. The right to report on the wedding was sold to Hello magazine, and the guests were told not to take any pictures of the event or talk to the press about anything.
“Ruth was the missing jigsaw piece in my life,” Eamonn said when he was asked about his second wife. “I was meant to be married - I never saw any joy in the bachelor lifestyle, and when I met Ruth, not only did I fall deeply in love with her, but she had so many attributes that I admire. She's a wonderful mummy to Jack, a fantastic partner both personally and professionally, and now, I'm proud to say, she's my beautiful wife.”
How Many Children do They Share?
After Eamonn got married for the first time, the couple became parents to their three kids, Declan, Rebecca, and Niall, who are 29, 27, and 25, respectively. The children stayed with their mother when the couple separated, and Eamonn also became a father to his third son Jack, born to his second wife, Ruth, who is 17 years old now and ready to leave the nest.
