Emma Roberts Is "Moving On" After Her Split From Garrett Hedlund

Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund made headlines earlier this year as the latest estranged couple, but it seems the pair's separation is official. An insider said, "It's sad, and they are trying their best to co-parent. It's been hard."Although the actress hasn't commented on her breakup yet, sources say she is moving on. Roberts was recently spotted on a night out with her girlfriends in West Hollywood. 

Amid the news of their budding romance, the We're the Millers actress and Hedlund sparked engagement rumors in late 2020, but sources were quick to rebuke the rumors. "They are not talking about an engagement or marriage at the moment, they like hanging out and going out together, and their relationship is more fun than serious," an insider reported.   

The couple's split comes weeks after their son's first birthday.

Roberts and Garret's split comes weeks after the couple commemorated their son Rhodes's first birthday. The actress debuted her baby bump on the gram in August 2020. Sharing a picture of herself with Hedlund, Emma wrote, "me and my two favorite guys." They welcomed their son on December 27.

Sharing a string of pictures from her son's birthday celebration, the Nancy Drew actress captioned, "Happy Birthday Rodeo, Frosting in my hair and @thebeatbuds stuck in my head. Loved every second of it; I love you, Rhodes."Roberts previously opened up about being a mom. In an interview, Emma said, "That was the most eye-opening, having a child."    

Sources revealed the estranged pair are trying their best to co-parent.

In addition to his recent breakup from Roberts, the Tron: Legacy actor is also being sued after nodding off behind wheels and crashing into a mother-daughter duo identified as Marina Venegas and Jennifer Castillo. The two claimed, "he knew he was drinking to the point of severe intoxication before getting behind the wheel of his Jeep."  

Roberts, 30, Hedlund, 37, started dating in March 2019, shortly after Emma's split from actor Evan Peters, her on and off again fiance. Emma was in a relationship with Peters from 2012 to 2019, and Hedlund was briefly engaged to actress Kirsten Dunst, who he dated from 2012 to 2016.
