'General Hospital' Alum Steve Burton Splits From Pregnant Wife, Says 'Child Not Mine'

Steve Burton alleges his pregnant wife's child isn't his: Complete story here!

A typical soap-opera level drama had unfolded in actor Steve Burton's life, as the General Hospital alum revealed he and his wife, Sheree Gustin, have separated, and the reason behind has many rubbing their eyes in disbelief. Burton claimed he called it quits with Sheree over her soon-to-be-born child, which he claimed isn't his.

The 51-year-old took to his Instagram story to set the record straight. "I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated," Burton's story post read. He adds, "She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine." The now-estranged couple was married for 23 years and shares three children.

"We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much love, Steve," the actor wrote, who is now co-parenting, Makena, 18, Jack, 16, and Brooklyn, 7, with Sheree. The pair walked down the aisle on January 16, 1999, after meeting and falling in love on the sets of General Hospital.

Steve's announcement comes days after Sheree revealed her fourth pregnancy. The fitness guru, 45, shared a picture of herself cradling her belly with the caption, "Life sure is full of surprises." Burton, a native of Indianapolis, has always been upfront about his life with his fans, be it his ongoing bumpy personal life or his exit from General Hospital late last year for not complying with the Covid mandate.

"I know there's been a lot of rumors and speculations about General Hospital and me. I wanted you to hear it from me personally," the actor said in a clip. Burton adds, "Unfortunately, they've decided to let me go because of the vaccine mandate. I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions, and both of those were denied, which, you know, hurts."

The career setback was soon followed by Burton joining the cast of Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, a spin-off of Days of Our Lives, last month. Steve appears on the show as his Days of Our Lives self Harris Michaels. Burton's other credits include The Young and the Restless, Kingdom Hearts, and Taken.
