James Gunn Engaged to Longtime Partner

James Gunn and his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Holland: Complete story here!  

Filmmaker James Gunn is engaged to Peacemaker actress Jennifer Holland, who he has been dating since 2015. Gunn, 55, and Holland, 34, announced their engagement on their respective Instagram handles. The Guardians of the Galaxy creator posted a picture of Jennifer drinking a cup of coffee while sporting her massive engagement ring. Holland posted a picture of the couple with the caption, "Happiness."  

Holland, a native of Chicago, is best known for her roles in The Suicide Squad, American Pie Presents The Book of Love, and Peacemakers, created by her now-fiance. The news of the couple's engagement comes just days after HBO renewed Peacemakers for a second season. "Creating Peacemaker has been one of the true highlights of my life, both professionally and otherwise," Gunn said in a statement.

Ever since starting a romantic relationship in 2015, Gunn and Holland have worked on several projects. The couple first collaborated on the 2019 super horror film 2019's Brightburn and later in The Suicide Squad, where Jennifer's Emilia Harcourt character made the DC Extended Universe debut.

Holland revealed she didn't know who Gunn was when she first met her. Gunn credits his friend and actor Michael Rosenbaum for setting them up. The Peacemakers actress revealed a friend of hers described Gunn as a producer-director. "I guess the fact that she put producer first or something just kind of gave me weird vibes," Holland said.

But the initial perception changed soon when she watched Gunn's The Guardians of Galaxy and other works. "I just told him my whole life story; we spent like seven hours together and that's it. how it started," Jennifer told The Hollywood Reporter. Gunn was previously married to The Office fame Jenna Fischer from 2000 to 2007.
