An emotional Jennifer Lopez bags the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards!
Jennifer Lopez was all emotional and in tears while accepting the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on Sunday in Santa Monica. The 52-year-old had many people, including the ones who didn't believe in her and the ones who lied to her, to thank as she grabbed hold of the coveted award.
While delivering her winning speech, Lopez categorizes her thank yous as "a different kind of list of thank yous," The singer/actress also includes her family in her long speech. Mentioning her two children, Emme and Max, Lopez credits them for "teaching me to love."
Lopez took home the Generation Award on Sunday.

The Selena actress continues, "I want to thank all the people who gave me this life. I want to thank the people who gave me joy and the ones who broke my heart. The ones who were true and the ones who lied to me," The Grammy winner's speech doesn't end there.

Looking back on her hard yet fruitful career, Jennifer adds, "I want to thank true love, and I want to thank the way that I lied to myself because that's how I knew that I had to grow. I want to thank disappointment and failure for teaching me to be strong. I really don't think I could have done it without you." Lopez concludes her speech with a shoutout to her fiance Ben Affleck. "Ben and everybody at home, wait for me to have dinner. I will be home by 7," she says.

Jennifer's big win comes almost a month after the singer announced her second engagement with Affleck. Taking to the exclusive fans newsletter On the JLO, the On the Floor crooner made her engagement public. "So I have a really exciting and special story to share," Lopez says while giving fans a glimpse of her huge green diamond ring.
Lopez and Affleck's romance goes back to the early 2000s when the duo met on the sets of their film Gigli and fell in love shortly. The two worked on a couple more projects as one of the most high-profile couples at the time. The twosome announced their engagement in November 2002 but called it off in January 2004. The estranged pair later cited "extensive media attention" as one of the reasons for their split.

Hope sparked once again for Bennifer when Lopez and Ben were pictured sneaking around early last year. The pair confirmed their rekindled relationship in July 2021, and the lovebirds haven't stopped since.

"I don't think anybody was more surprised than us," the Marry Me actress said about their reunion. Before reviving her relationship with Ben, Lopez was engaged to Alex Rodriguez for two years, and Affleck was married to Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children.
