David Cruz passes away at the age of 51.
Jennifer Lopez’s ex-boyfriend David Cruz tragically passed away at the age of 51. The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed his death on 23rd March 2020, Monday. As per TMZ, Cruz died of heart disease two days prior on Saturday.
The couple were high school sweethearts and dated for more than ten years before deciding to go their separate ways.
As per People Magazine, Lopez and Cruz were in a relationship for a decade after they gained romantic interest for one another when the pop superstar was merely 15. The duo remained together till the mid-1990s until Jennifer’s breakout performance in a biographical musical drama 'Selena' (1997).

The couple was often spotted in public events during their time together. Cruz accompanied the singer/actress at the premiere of the buddy cop action film ‘Money Train’ in November 1995. In fact, he reportedly served as a movie production assistant at the time as well.
The deceased Cruz was in a relationship with his partner of 18 years, Isa, who described him to TMZ as “kind and loving.”
Isa said, “He never held on to anything and was always very open. He was a devoted father, he helped raise his stepson who is now in the Marines. He loved the Yankees and Knicks. He loved going to the theatre with me.”
Cruz's partner continued, “My favorite moment was family date night, because it wasn’t just special for me but for the kids as well. He always made sure to end things with an ‘I love you.’”

Meanwhile, J Lo is currently engaged to baseball shortstop Alex Rodriguez since September 2019 after dating for two years.
