John Cena and Wife Shay Shariatzadeh Ties the Knots- Again

John Cena and his wife of nearly two years, Shay Shariatzadeh, an engineer, recently renewed their vows in Vancouver. The 45-year-old wrestler looked dapper in a blue suit, while Shariatzadeh looked elegant as ever in a sleeveless white dress with floral details. The wedding venue, Vancouver, is where the couple first met in 2019 when Cena was filming Playing with Fire.  

The loved-up pair's second wedding comes almost two years after their low-profile wedding in Tampa, Florida, on October 12, 2020. "It was love at first sight," a source said about the duo, who started dating in mid-2019 and made their relationship official at the premiere of Playing with Fire. "What's truly special about this one is that, no matter what projects I'm involved in in the future, this one will always have a special meaning because I got to film a special project and meet someone special," the wrestler-turned-actor said.

The insider added, "He is a romantic. (we) knew they would marry, so the [private ceremony] wasn't a surprise. He just wanted to do it out of the limelight." Shariatzadeh is a native of Vancouver but was born in Iran. When she met Cena, Shay was reportedly working for a software company called Sonatype. "My wife is the most wonderful woman on the face of the planet for being cool with something like that," Cena said while gushing about his wife.

Before Shay, the Suicide Squad actor was married to Elizabeth Huberdeau. Cena announced his engagement to Huberdeau while promoting his 2009 film 12 Rounds, and the two shortly tied the knots on July 11, 2009. The duo's low-key relationship came to a wrap in May 2012. Cena and Elizabeth's divorce was finalized days after their 3rd anniversary.

Before diving into another hush-hush relationship with Shariatzadeh, the professional wrestler famously engaged to wrestler Nikki Bella, who he had started dating in 2012. The duo got engaged at WrestleMania 33 on April 2, 2017. The pair's on-off relationship was extensively covered on Total Divas and Total Bellas. John and Nikki confirmed their split in April 2018.

"You know, every experience in life is a chance for us to know who we are and who we're not and just because I went down one avenue in life doesn’t mean I’m going to repeat going down that avenue," the Trainwreck actor said following his publicized split from Bella, who claimed her public breakup scarred her for life. "It scarred me a lot and that's why at times, I'll post Artem and then I won't for a while. It scared me about marriage, it scared me about kids," said the Total Bellas star, who is dating dancer Artem Chigvintsev.
