Kevin Smith and Anthony Daniels in Tears Because of the C3PO Scene, Reveals Director J.J. Abrams
Anthony Daniels was in tears after filming his C3PO scenes and so was Kevin Smith who was watching the whole thing unfold.
There is a bad habit among people who make the trailers and the ones who approve the clips to be sent to the editor's room for the trailer; they give out major plot points from the short two-minute clip. The art of making a trailer is always providing enough information but never revealing too much in terms of the story.
The trailers of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' may have shown too much at times, but the story is well hidden, in spite of what John Boyega did. But there is one plot point we are certain is not going to end well, and it is the one of 'C3PO.' The beloved translator droid rescued by 'Luke Skywalker' was the one who held our hands, along with 'R2-D2,' and took us on a journey.

'C3PO' and 'R2-D2' were our eyes and ears in the galaxy far far away, and it seems 'C3PO' is headed for certain demise when the final trailer of 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' is analyzed. The last thing C3PO says as he is being hooked up with wires is “taking one last look” at the friends he made through the past few years.
It was the hardest hitting part of the trailer, and people are certain the annoyingly lovely golden droid is going to die a heroic death for the resistance he’s been part of for the last 40 years. Though there will not be a confirmation of what the character will go through in the final movie, the words of J.J. Abrams will not allow the people weary, for the safety of '3PO,' to breathe a sigh of relief.

The director was in Brazil CCXP when he divulged some information about the filming of the scene and how not only the actor who plays '3PO,' Anthony Daniels, was in tears but a special guest and 'Star Wars' fan, Kevin Smith, was also in tears after the scene was shot.
J.J. said, “I remember after he did that scene and they removed his mask, there were just tears streaming down his face. We all felt it.” “In fact, Kevin Smith was there that day, and he was watching, and I went around to the corner, and he looked like Anthony. It was very sweet, even on that day, to see them so emotional,” the director continued.

It doesn’t take much to make Kevin Smith cry; he is a softy and also the reason why we all love him. But just taking in the information from the trailer and the words of the director, it sure as hell seems to be one amazing scene.
Anthony Daniels was not happy with how his character was used in The Last Jedi, and it seems the actor is getting his wish with 'The Rise of Skywalker.' He is getting the moment to shine with what seems to a pivotal moment for the story of the movie as a whole. A well-deserved moment in the spotlight for a character who was there from the start and allowed us to see the 'Star Wars' universe through his eyes.
