Mayan MC is Coming Back for a Third Season Despite the Recent Firing of Kurt Sutter
Mayans MC is moving forward even after the firing of the creator and showrunner Kurt Sutter.
‘Sons of Anarchy’ was a massive success at FX, where the biker gang series was not only well received by the critics but was also beloved among the general public. The show left a loyal fan base behind when the final moments of the series aired on the former Fox Network channel.
Kurt Sutter was a TV hero, and considering he wrote some of the best episodes of the FX show 'The Shield' and then created Sons Anarchy. He was untouchable when it comes to the public perception, who cares about 'The Bastard Executioner,' Kurt was still one of the best writers on FX. This was also the reason why the fan base was angry and shocked when news arrived the creator of 'Sons of Anarchy' was fired from his spin-off show 'Mayans MC.'

The reason for Kurt being fired all came from one joke, which was supposed to be in the premiere episode of 'Mayans MC.' A little R-rated joke about the purchase of Fox by Disney, but the whole thing blew-up on his face as the joke caused some serious amount of tear between the Mouse House and Kurt, which eventually led to his firing.
But even without Kurt Sutter, who started the whole show and the spin-off series, the channel is moving ahead with the third season of 'Mayans MC.' Elgin James was being groomed by Kurt to take his place on 'Mayans MC,' and after the firing of the writer and creator, Elgin will be taking over the showrunner duties.

“We’re happy to continue telling the story of 'Mayans M.C.' with our partners at Fox 21 and excited that Elgin James has earned the opportunity to become the series’ showrunner,” Nick Grad, the president of original programming at FX Entertainment said in a press release. “Kurt Sutter identified and chose Elgin as his partner on the show from the outset, and Elgin has been instrumental to the success of the series, leveraging his experience and creative vision to make Mayans M.C. with this incredible cast, crew and creative team.”
Kurt Sutter is gone, and the Elgin will be taking over the show as the full-time showrunner, which was not well received by the fans. But in parting words, the higher-ups at FX were all praises when it comes to the man the channel was in business with for almost two decades.

Brett Shalke, the president at Fox 21, said, “Keeping this vibrant series strong is a huge priority to everyone at Fox 21 Television Studios, FX Productions and of course FX, which has been a spectacular home and platform for both Mayans M.C. and Sons before it,”
While Kurt Sutter was the one who took the complete blame for the situation, which led to his firing. The writer said he was the one who “created the circumstances that led to my being forced out,” and he also talked about overestimating his own value while he underestimated the unf*ckability of the mouse.”

The joke about Disneyland and Walt Disney himself was the start of the end for Kurt at FX, and now we are left to watch the 'Mayans MC' without the guidance of the creator who was responsible for bringing the whole franchise to life in the first place.
