Rihanna Donates $5 Million to COVID-19 Relief Efforts
Rihanna makes a considerable donation to tackle coronavirus pandemic.
Rihanna is doing her bit to aid in the worldwide coronavirus relief efforts. The 'Umbrella' singer’s Clara Lionel Foundation announced they donated $5 million to combat COVID-19 and help those on the frontline of this incurable disease.
In a statement, the executive director of the Foundation, Justine Lucas, said:
Never has it been more important or urgent to protect and prepare marginalized and underserved communities - those who will be hit hardest by this pandemic.
The money will come as a big help in providing supplies to foodbanks who are continually feeding the vulnerable and elderly amid the crisis. Moreover, those funds are expected to be used for more coronavirus testing in nations like Haiti and Malawi.

Additionally, the funds are supposed to help purchase gloves and masks and several other protective pieces of equipment in the ICU. Furthermore, they are expected to assist in developing vaccines as well as train medical workers.
Meanwhile, Rihanna is not the only big name doing her bit. The famous husband-wife duo Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively made donations of $1 million to food banks in North America to aid the relief efforts during this coronavirus crisis.

Reynolds wrote on Instagram:
Covid-19 has brutally impacted older adults and low-income families. Blake and I are donating $1 million to be split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. If you can give, these orgs need our help. Take care of your bodies and hearts. Leave room for joy. Call someone who’s isolated and might need connection.
The vice president of Major Gifts at Feeding America, Dan Nisbet, added in a statement: “We are so grateful for Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s extremely generous donation, and for all of the donations we’ve been receiving.”
