Robert Lewandowski Closing in Gerd Muller's Goal Scoring Record

The Polish forward looks set to surpass the legendary player's record.

Bayern Munich has regained the Bundesliga title after beating Borussia Monchengladbach 6-0 at Allianz Arena on Saturday. The title is Bayern's ninth consecutive league trophy. 

Winning the league is no herculean task for Bayern; after all, they have won it 30 times which is the most among any German club. However, the attention now goes to the prestigious club's striker Robert Lewandowski, who eagerly awaits playing the remaining matches.

Against Monchengladbach, the mercurial forward scored yet another hattrick taking his goal tally to an incredible 39 goals this season in the league. In terms of scoring goals this season, no one comes close to the Polish captain.

Robert is only a goal shy of the legendary German player Gerd Muller who has the most goals in a single campaign. The 32-year-old player is arguably the best striker of this generation and has every quality to become a perfect striker.
