Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Rocky changed his name from Wayde Douglas Bowles to Rocky Johnson and soon transitioned towards wrestling. He started wrestling professionally at the age of 16.
Throughout the 70's, 80's, and 90's, Rocky carved out a path for himself and won several championships.
He joined the now WWE and then WWF in 1983 and along with Tony Atlas created an alliance called African-American Tag Team, The Soul Patrol.
Meanwhile, The Rock is yet to share his side after the demise of his father. The wrestler turned actor has rarely talked about his relationship with his father but back in 2018, he opened up about it.

Back then, he wrote on his Instagram, "Happy Father’s Day to this hardly ever smiling OG badass. Little boys by nature, look up to and idolize their old man. They want to be just like em, do whatever they do and are always looking for their approval. Funny thing is the day I stopped looking for that approval was the day I understood what it meant to be man and more importantly, a father."
The same year, Rocky underwent a hip surgery and after the successful surgery, Dwayne gifted his dad a brand new car.
Rocky was married three times, first marriage with Una Johnson, second with Ata Johnson, and Dana Martin. Altogether, he is a father of three kids.
