Sheridan Smith Splits from her Boyfriend Alex Lawler After Four Months of Dating

Actress and singer Sheridan Smith has reportedly ended her four-month-old relationship with Alex Lawler. Although it is said to be an amicable split, The Royle Family actress has wiped all traces of Alex from her social media. The couple first dated more than 20 years ago and had rekindled their relationship last year.   

Like Smith, Lawler has several credits in movies and television, including EastEnders, Blue Murder, and Mike Bassett: England Manager, and more. "Sheridan was delighted when she rekindled her old flame with Alex, and it was a wonderful reunion for them both," a source had reported. The reunited couple reportedly called quits a few weeks ago. "There was no major drama, and they both agreed their romance had run its course," an insider said.

When the actress was linked with Alex back in September, she took to her Instagram to express her happiness. "So pleased this fitty I dated back in the day (20 years ago) is back in my life! Life works in mysterious ways...miss you, Mr. L," Smith wrote while sharing a selfie of herself with Smith. The post received quite the trolls, and the actress was targetted by haters, who called her desperate.

A source said the lovebirds realized soon that they were better off as friends. The 40 years old actress is now happily single and is focused on herself and her son. Before Lawler, Smith was engaged to insurance broker Jamie Horn.

Horn and Smith welcomed a son, Billy, in May 2020. They even appeared onscreen in a documentary titled Sheridan Smith: Becoming Mum. Sheridan announced her split from Horn in July 2021. "We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you," the Legally Blonde actress said.
