Inside Susan Lucci's career and her married life: The complete breakdown here!
An actress, author, host, and entrepreneur, Susan Lucci can be best described as a television icon, who has reigned over the audience's hearts and has cemented her career portraying one character, Erika Kane, on the ABC daytime drama All My Children. The actress played Erika for 41 years, earning eighteen Emmy nominations until 1999, when she finally won the first Emmy.
Susan Victoria Lucci was born on December 23, 1946, in Scarsdale. She was in her early 20s when she snagged the lead role in All My Children shortly after graduating from Marymount College. Lucci's other credits include The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, and The Woman Who Sinned. Outside of her long stint as Erika, Susan is a mother of two and, sadly, a recently turned widow.
Susan Lucci's husband of 52 years has passed away!
Unlike her fan-favorite alter-ego, Kane, who married a total of seven times throughout the show's 41 seasons, and yet came out "unlucky in love" at the end, Lucci's life has been the exact opposite. The soap opera and her now-deceased husband, Helmut Huber, kept each other vows of till death does them apart.

Huber, an Austrian-born chef and food-service manager, passed away on March 28, at 84. The actress's spokesperson revealed that her husband died peacefully, adding, "Helmut's passing is a tremendous loss for all who knew and loved him. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and friend."

Lucci's marriage with Huber precedes her career breakthrough. The then-anonymous Lucci was part-timing at Long Island’s Garden City Hotel, where Huber worked as a hotel’s executive chef when the two started dating. After just three weeks of romance, the pair walked down the aisle on Sept. 13, 1969, almost a year before Susan bagged the role in All My Children.

While nearing the 50th decade of their nuptials, the two were already parents to two, grandparents to eight and great-grandparents to two. The pair enjoyed an equal marriage considering Huber later switched his profession to tend to his famous wife; he worked as Lucci's manager and CEO of Lucci’s Pine Valley Productions and SL Enterprises.
Susan Lucci's children!
Lucci and her late husband had two children, Liza Huber (47) and Andreas Huber (34), while Lucci also played a token mother to Huber's two children from his previous children. To her nearly 200k Instagram followers, Lucci comes up as a doting mother, wife, and grandmother. The soap opera actress's posts about her family are as gushy as it is recurring. "Since I was a girl, I wanted to be an actress, but I also wanted a family," Liza's mother once said.

Lucci's oldest, Liza, is also a soap opera actress like her mother. And just like her one dominant credit over others, Liza's best-known role is as Gwen Hotchkiss in the soap opera Passions. Liza is married to Alexander George Hesterberg III, who is in tech, and together, the pair have four sons.
