Who is Valerie Bertinelli's Husband? Detail About her Married Life and Relationship

Inside Valerie Bertinelli's two failed marriages. The actress is a mother of one!  

Best known for playing Melanie Moretti on the beloved sitcom Hot in Cleveland, Valerie Bertinelli is an actress and a television personality with several accolades under her belt, including a Golden Globe and two Emmys. The actress has garnered much recognition for her cooking show, Valerie's Home Cooking, which airs on Food Network.  

Born Valerie Anne Bertinelli, on April 23, 1960, in Wilmington, Delaware, she shot to fame as a child star, playing Barbara Cooper in One Day At a Time. The actress delved into marriage hood at the tender age of 21, but the marriage didn't reap a good ending. Bertinelli was 44 when she found love again and got married at 51. Valerie, 61, has again declared a failed marriage and filed to be legally separated from her husband of over two decades.  

Who is Valerie Bertinelli's husband?  

 The One Day At a Time star is married to Tom Vitale, a financial planner. But the couple's over ten years-long marriage has come to an end, as Valerie has officially filed to be separated from Tom. As per TMZ, who first reported the news, Bertinelli cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

Vitale is also an entrepreneur. He is the CEO of Veebow, an e-commerce company. Bertinelli started dating Vitale a few years after her separation from her first husband in 2001. Then a new lovebird, Valerie and Tom, announced her engagement with Vitale in May 2010 and tied the knots on new year's day in 2011.

Bertinelli and Vitale don't share any kids, but the actress has been a stepmother to Vitale's four kids from his previous marriage. The Hot in Cleveland actress once revealed the reality of being a part of a blended family. "It's not easy; I'm looking forward to being an empty nester," Bertinelli once said of her blended family. It's almost a shame that Bertinelli and Vitale's marriage didn't work out, considering the duo met at their lowest and built a relationship.

The actress was fresh out of her split from her first husband, and so was Vitale. Not only was Bertinelli undergoing a rough patch in her personal life, but the actress had also ballooned upto 172 pounds. "I've never felt more beautiful at any weight than when Tom looks at me. He loved me no matter what. In his way, he's teaching me to love myself just as I am," Bertinelli once said in an interview. 

Why did Valerie Bertinelli and her first-husband split ways?  

Before Vitale, Valerie was famously married to the late iconic musician and songwriter Eddie Van Halen. She married Eddie in 1981, and the two welcomed a son, Wolfgang Van Halen, on March 16, 1991. Wolfgang has followed the steps of his legendary father and is also a celebrated musician. Bertinelli and Eddie met at a concert in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1980 and tied the knots eight months later.

As the former couple went about their married life, it became clear that the two had tied the knots in haste. Things had started to fall out, and the media got the whiff of it. Bertinelli announced her separation from Eddie in 2001, and their divorce was finalized in 2005. Apparently, the actress had long put up with Eddie's antics.

In the paper, she cited the singer's cocaine addiction as the reason for their split, but it was an incident involving her young son that made the actress act on the long-overdue separation; the singer reportedly boarded a plane with their then-10 years old son while carrying a packet of cocaine in his wallet.
