On June 24, 1967, at the age of 19, O.J. Simpson married Marguerite L. Whitley, and they had three children together: Arnelle L. Simpson (born 1968), Jason Lamar Simpson (born 1970), and Aaren Lashone Simpson (1977–1979). Tragically, in August 1979, Aaren drowned in the family's swimming pool.

While still married to his first wife, Simpson met Nicole Brown in 1977 at a nightclub called The Daisy, where she worked as a waitress. Despite still being married, Simpson began dating Nicole Brown. In 1979 the former pair got divorced. 

After five years of retiring the football star married his second wife, Nicole. Simpson married  They had two children together, Sydney Brooke Simpson (born 1985) and Justin Ryan Simpson (born 1988).

On July 31, 2013, O.J. Simpson was granted parole by the Nevada Parole Board for some of his convictions, but he continued to remain imprisoned due to the weapons and assault convictions. The board took into account his prior criminal record and good behavior in prison when making this decision. 

Then, on July 20, 2017, at his parole hearing, the board granted Simpson parole with specific conditions, including travel restrictions, no contact with co-defendants from the robbery, and refraining from excessive drinking. 

He was finally released on October 1, 2017, after serving nearly nine years in prison. Later, on December 14, 2021, Simpson was released from parole early for his good behavior, making him a completely free man without any restrictions.
