Colin Firth is Dating US Screenwriter Maggie Cohn

Colin Firth and Maggie Cohn are dating: The lovebirds were spotted enjoying a romantic lunch date in West London.   

Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth's new flame is reported to be American screenwriter Maggie Cohn. The duo connected and fell for each other in their yet-to-release miniseries, The Staircase; the upcoming crime drama stars Firth as Michael Peterson, a novelist who was convicted of murdering his wife, Kathleen Peterson, played by Toni Collette. Cohn holds the credit as the writer.   

The smitten couple was last spotted enjoying a romantic lunch at Firth's local Lebanese restaurant, Grilandia, in West London. Sporting a turquoise-colored wool coat, a beanie, and a knee-length boot, Maggie, in her 40s, looked happier than ever. Firth, 61, was also pictured in a casual fit. As per the onlookers, the pair were chatting and laughing while enjoying a stroll around.   

Onlookers said the actor and his new girlfriend looked very happy.

"They were deep in conversation together and looked very happy, Colin appeared to be cracking a couple of jokes, and they giggled together. They might not have been holding hands, but they certainly appeared to be close," an onlooker said about the happy couple. As per sources close to the couple, Firth and his writer girlfriend started dating right away after they met on The Staircase sets last year.

The Love Actually actor was last married to Italian producer Livia Giuggioli, with whom Firth shares two sons, Luca and Matteo. Firth and Giuggioli tied the knots in 1997 and announced their separation in 2019. The news of their separation came after Giuggioli was romantically linked with another man. The estranged couple, however, still lead an amicable relationship. "They maintain a close friendship and remain united in their love for their children," a source said at the time.

Firth's new girlfriend, Maggie, is an acclaimed screenwriter, with credits in American Crime Story, Perry's Fairies, The Black Dahlia, and the popular Netflix crime drama Narcos: Mexico. Cohn, a multiple-award winner, reportedly flew from her home in America earlier this week to meet her English boyfriend, who still resides near his ex-wife. Colin shares his eldest son, William Joseph Firth, with his ex-girlfriend, Meg Tilly.
