Cynthia Nixon is a doting mother of three: Inside her blended family!  

Cynthia Nixon is an actress, best known for her portrayal of Miranda Hobbes in the HBO series Sex and the City. Nixon is also a liberal activist who has long advocated for public education and the legalization of marijuana. She identified herself as bi in 2012, but the actress now refers to herself as queer.  

Cynthia Ellen Nixon was born on April 9, 1966, in Manhattan, New York. She has won many accolades, including two Emmys, two Tony Awards, two Screen Actor Guild, and a Grammy. The Acclaimed actress has created a happy blended family with three children and two different partners. Cynthia's son came out as transgender in 2018.

With the growing popularity of Sex and the City, which landed her the leading role in Advice from a Caterpillar, Nixon was still very early in fame when she had her sons, Samuel Mozes and Charles Mozes, with her ex-partner, photographer Danny Mozes. The two were together for 15 years, but they never married.

In June 2018, the actress revealed that her son, Samuel, is trans. "I'm so proud of my son Samuel Joseph Moses (called Seph), who graduated college this month, the proud mother said. "I salute him and everyone else marking today's #TransDayofAction," Nixon wrote on her Instagram. Samuel, 25, graduated from the University of Chicago.

Samuel is following in his mother's footsteps by working in the theatre. As per sources, he has worked as an assistant director on a production of King Lear. Charles, 18, is reportedly pursuing a career as DJ. Sex and the City fans remember him as the baby bump from the show's fourth season when Nixon's character Hobbes was pregnant too.

Cynthia's happy family includes a little daughter, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, 9, who she had with her wife, Christine Marinoni, an activist. Nixon and Marinoni tied the knots on May 27, 2012, shortly after the legalization of same-sex marriage in Washington state.

If you thought Nixon and Marinoni's nine years of marriage is an impressive feat, then you'd be more impressed to know that the two have been together since 2004. Their relationship got more serious in the wake of activism for same-sex marriage. Cynthia and her then-girlfriend got engaged at a rally to support gay marriage.

Marinoni is an LGBTQ+ rights and education activist. She has worked for New York's Department of Education. Marinoni came out as a lesbian in 1995 and started her political activism the same year. She met Cynthia while campaigning for reform in public education in 2001.

 Nixon reprised her iconic character, Miranda Hobbes, in the recently released Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That. The revival drama follows the memorable trio, Nixon (Hobbes), Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte) in their 50s.
