Friends Is Officially Leaving Netflix At The End Of The Year

No more 'Friends' on Netflix. Our beloved sitcom Friends will no longer stream on Netflix from the coming year.

Many of you might be wondering why? Well, the iconic television show Friends is migrating to another streaming site HBO Max, Warner Media's new streaming service.

The news was made official by 'Netflix US' taking to their official Instagram on Tuesday, June 9.

According to reports by THR, Netflix and Warner had a deal between $80 to $100 million for broadcasting the show till 2019. So soon as the contract expires at the beginning of 2020, the series will move to HBO Max.

Warner Media Entertainment and direct-to-consumer chairman Robert Greenblatt shared few words about the acquisition, 

"HBO Max will bring together the diverse riches of Warner Media to create programming and user experiences not seen before in a streaming platform."

Robert shares that they are very excited and positively looking forward to the new acquisitions. Besides, he feels happy and lucky for the new array of Max Originals.

The Warner Bros' show will run under the leadership of two creative visionaries, Casey Bloys (HBO) and Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer of Warner Media. 

Well, the two most experienced digital experts assure the audiences of all ages to deliver the world's best storytelling whenever or wherever they want it.

Besides many of our favorite shows will be migrating to HBO max which includes Pretty Little Liars, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as well as Riverdale which is shortly leaving NetFlix too.
