John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum sold more copies in three days than John Wick 2 did in one whole week.
'John Wick' was a revelation five years ago; no one, in particular, was ready to admit back then as the $89 million the movie grossed at the box office is evident. But then the magic of home media caused the movie’s rise in fame. More people discovered the film later and were totally taken by the brooding and dark character of John Wick. Killing a dog is punishable by death and the over 70 bodies he buried in the movie was a public service in most fans’ eyes which made the character of 'John Wick' even more lovable.
A part of a sprawling world where contract killers and assassins are ingrained into our society with their own currencies and rules, the vast, expansive world which was neither explained nor shown fully in the movie was something people discovered rewatched and loved in-home media. This is why the second movie almost doubled the take of the first one and again was a monster hit in-home media.

No one thought the creators, actors, and writers of the movie would be able to catch lightning in the bottle a third time, and they did exactly what we thought was not possible. 'John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum' made over $300 million, which was again almost double of the second part. The movie was the continuation and expansion of the great story from the first two movies, and it was probably the best movie of the lot.
Then the creators of the movie were all set to release the film in-home media, and the release date was set for 10 September 2019. There were many added bonus features in the home media version, such as Keanu doing stunts on a bike, learning to ride a horse and doing stunts while riding. Finally, people got their hands on the home media, and it seems the movie is not done breaking records.

According to the sales report, the film sold over three million digital and packaged copy in its first week of release. To put it into perspective, the movie sold more in three days than what 'John Wick 2' did in a whole week. It was also the most copies sold by a film for Lionsgate since the last 'Hunger Games' movie.
Keanissance is not dead, and people are more than happy to keep it alive and carry it into the New Year, which is not far away now. Ron Schwartz, the Worldwide Home Entertainment President for Lionsgate, was full of praises for the people involved in the movie.
Ron said, “The popularity of the John Wick franchise continues to surge with strong growth across packaged media, electronic sell-through, and video-on-demand platforms. The success of John Wick: Chapter 3 is a testament to the film’s incredible cast, led by Keanu Reeves, and amazing creative team, the efforts of our sales and marketing executives, and the vibrancy of the home entertainment business across all of its platforms.”
The happiness Lionsgate is feeling is clearly evident by the fact the film was greenlit for a fourth outing which already holds a release date of 21 May 2021. So, be ready for more gun-fu and John Wick action because this time he is coming for everyone, and no one is safe.
