'Shrek 2' director, Kelly Asbury, died at the age of 60, following his long battle with abdominal cancer.
Hollywood just lost its one of the most exquisite gem, Animator Kelly Asbury, who was also the director of Shrek 2, bid farewell from this world on Friday, Jun 26, 2020. According to the reports, the animator was battling with abdominal cancer.
The news was confirmed by Asbury's representative, Nancy Newhouse Porter, to Deadline. Nancy expressed, "He was one of the most admired and beloved people in the industry. It's heartbreaking for everyone."

While remembering Kelly, his contribution to the industry is endless. He was a three-time Annie Awards nominee for directing 'Shrek 2' and writing and directing 'Gnomeo & Juliet.' Moreover, the animator was also nominated twice by the Cannes Film Festival.

The director has also worked on significant productions at Disney before moving to DreamWorks Animation.
