Kerry Katona Will Stand Trial After Allegedly Failing To Send One Of Her Children To School
Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning for her alleged accusation of failing to send her child to school regularly.
The reality TV stay Kerry Katona appeared at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, July 31, and was accused of failing to send one of her five children to school. She pleaded not guilty to the accusation.
The child in question cannot be named legally but s/he did not attend school between October 31 and November 28 last year, and Jason La Corbiniere defended her by stating that the child was absent due to illness. She accepted the child's absence from school but denied the allegations that it was she who failed, and was still charged. She is to stand trial on October 7.
The 'Loose Women' star who revealed she had suicidal tendencies in the past wore a star-patterned shirt and black tights with her hair tied back for the hearing.
The Crowborough, East Sussex resident was escorted into the courtroom by an usher and sat behind her solicitor, outside the dock, for the 10-minute hearing. That was allowed to her for the time being. She then spoke her name, address and date of birth to confirm herself along with her 'not gulity'.
Katona was married three times and four of her five children were from her earlier two marriages. Her most recent husband was George Kay who unfortunately passed away earlier this month on July 6 in his Cheshire home from a suspected drug overdose.
The TV personality was already untied to Kay at the time of his death. They split in 2015 on account of a series of alleged domestic incident. After his passing, Katona made therapeutic counselings claiming that she was haunted by the tragedy.
She joined Celebs Go Dating this year but with her trial in October, it might be a little difficult for her to get a date. She was released on unconditional bail before the trial.
